John B. Buse, MD, PhD, CDE
John B. Buse, MD, PhD, CDE, is Associate Professor, Director of the Diabetes Care Center, and Chief of the Division of General Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. He also sees patients at the Salem Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Dr. Buse graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College and received both his MD and PhD from Duke University in Durham. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators. Dr. Buse is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American College of Physicians, The Endocrine Society, and the Society of General Internal Medicine. He has been the principal investigator on numerous grants and has many publications to his credit. Business North Carolina recently named him as one of the “top practitioners” in North Carolina, and he was included in Best Doctors in America 2003-2004.
